Global Healing Meditation for Japan

For the soul

Where there is love there is life. Gandhi (1869 – 1948) It has been hard to find the desire or inspiration to write the past week.  The pictures from Japan, the incredible pain and suffering the Japanese people have had to endure are heartbreaking.  I strongly believe in the power of prayer, no matter what its form.  As we all help in any material and physical way we can, praying for them, sending them healing energy to support them emotionally will also mean and help a lot.  The Deepak Chopra Center scheduled a Live Global Healing Meditation Monday, March 21 at 8:30 p.m. (EDT).  These global meditations are an incredibly powerful experience, and I believe they do help to support those we keep in our hearts.  Join if you can, I know the time is not the easiest for those overseas. I hope you had a wonderful Holiday season .  I have been silent the last few weeks; I did not have the energy to keep up with the blog and all the wonderful work for the holidays as I wrestled with sinus infections again.  I will post the menus though and some thoughts over the next few days. I am neither a fan of New Year nor resolutions but this year I might be making an exception…  The bout with the virus and slow recovery, showed me how depleted I am.  I just closed a long running, very emotional project, and it is time to continue the regrouping with more serious work.  The timing just happen to coincide with New Year’s so I guess I actually have a resolution for 2011: return to health and balance in life!  It is a tall order, I have found it so difficult to …Read more

Twisting the stess away…

For the soul

Change leads to disappointment if it is not sustained. Transformation is sustained change, and it is achieved through practice. B.K.S. Iyengar I am still having trouble with sinus headaches after exercising and the unusual heat and humidity is preventing any strenuous activity, they are even considering closing school that do not have air conditioning with the heat index climbing above 100F.  I needed to find a way to continue yoga and decided to try a new Yoga DVD to my collection: A.M. Yoga for your week by Rodney Yee.  Each day focuses on one type of pose, lasts 20 min.  I started with the twist practice as twists help ring out stress, rid your body of impurities, activates the digestive system and help alleviate and fatigue.  Twenty minutes was just enough, and the twists a relatively low impact, easy session.  I am between beginner and intermediate; the intensity and difficulty …Read more

Whenever we release our need to be right about everything as parents, we are able to meet our children in a relationship of mutuality and respect. Arjuna Ardagh Today’s the day and he is off on his new adventure. It all felt so right, there was no room for tears though I imagined they will come as we try to find a new routine and start organizing the new school year. He was smiling and nervous when we said goodbye but I felt he had found his space. He is going to enjoy the very limited responsibilities and concentrate on his studies and more importantly his life, himself, discovering and exploring. He called and sounded great. It is a small group of kids all sharing a common interest and he seems anxious to start classes on Monday. I hope they will be challenging enough or that in the other case …Read more
