Throughout the whole of life one must continue to learn to live and what will amaze you even more, throughout life you must learn to die. Seneca (Roman philosopher) Seneca (4 BC – 65 AD) After the celebration of Valentine’s Day where most subjects get a flavor of hearts and Valentine, had to get back to more traditional learning.  It is never easy or automatic to switch rhythm especially when it involves cutting down on artistic time for DD.  We started back slowly into our routine by learning about another celebration we missed due to the flu in the house: the Chinese New Year.  I use Edhelper for special occasion or to generate several days of writing prompts, review material, etc.  You can add your own prompts and tailor the work to your child’s level.  I printed out a week of worksheets joining English and History for a refresher on …Read more

The experiences you draw to you through the opening in the doorway of your soul… stay open… only as long as you do… Marlise Karlin In our case, a new school year means stepping up the pace a bit and increasing the time spent on schoolwork given we keep minimal school going throughout the summer, usually special projects and fun activities.  For my daughter though, from May to October is her best time of year to learn, she advances faster and remains more focused so I try to take advantage of that.  But a new school year always means: time to reorganize!
