A thing of beauty is a joy forever. John Keats (1795 – 1821) The pantry is done!  DD and I tackled the toughest job over the weekend and were so proud to use it to bake Banana Bread Sunday afternoon.  What a pleasure to cook and bake when everything is in its place, easy to reach!  I feel like I am finally home.  The cabinet pull-out organizers were unfortunately not going to work, the kitchen space is an odd shape and size so cabinets are not standard. I used open bins to act as pull-outs for better access.  The Container Store had the right combination of sizes.  I like the handled bins though they cannot handle heavier items such as canned goods.  We will take a long detour to the Natik Mall to be able to inspect some of their other open bins.  I will take advantage of that field …Read more

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity. ~Voltaire It was exactly a year ago that we moved in our belongings from storage… I feel I am only now beginning to settle in truly but I bet I have said this several times over the past few months and every time, I must have only peeled at one layer or subsequently changed the use of a space. I love my kitchen, especially the storage space but the cabinets are not very practical right now and need a new organization plan to really be able to use them well.  I like organized closets and cabinets even if the outside is often messy with daily life… little messes are quickly remedied and are only a sign of the activity in the house.  If the closets are messy then …Read more
