Good morning! I have been reading, learning, testing new features for the blog, trying to get a little more up-to-date with this technology. Snow storms and subsequent resting time have helped a great deal I will say… There is always a silver lining! I added an email subscription option, you can change your subscription settings by visiting the “Blog Subscription” page online after logging in. Another new feature is a contact form which I hope will remove the unpleasant side effect of too much spam when using an email contact online. And last but not least, you can now recommend posts on Facebook if you wish. I am still learning and testing these features so please let me know if you experience any problems, have any questions or request for other feature which would make navigation easier. Have a wonderful day!
Every single moment of our lives presents us with a choice: either awaken to the reality of the present moment, or stay sleepy and push aspects of that reality away. Sensations are here every single moment. Why don’t we feel them? The visual field, in all its dazzling play, is here every moment that our eyes are open. Can we remember to look and actually see? Will Johnson This was the quote of the week and it could not have happened at a more opportune time. Why don’t we feel the sensations of every moment? Why is it often so hard to make the best changes for you? Breaking habits… we get into comfortable routines and breaking those can be more than …Read more

Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Kahlil Gibran (1883 – 1931) We are probably still 4 weeks or more away from the first blade of grass, with over a foot of snow on the ground in spite of the warm temperatures of last week. Yet over the past couple of weeks, I have felt so grateful for the increasing daylight. This is the time of year I love: winter with sunlight. So it is time to start planning the garden, make a wish list of perennials we want, a sketch of their placement and research the nurseries who might carry them. I want to try some less common plants this time but it also means they might …Read more
This morning, DS returned to college. We had him home for 3 days, and we had a very nice time. The bonus is that my laundry room only has towels and pillows left to wash! He comes home for laundry and the deal is that I will do all the wash if he rounds up the hampers and sorts. All I have to do is be home enough to go through 5-6 loads in the weekend. I love having it all done and put away in just a couple of days. One less thing to think about. The experiment of the weekend was the Triple Chocolate Mess! We had made the lava type chocolate cake in the slow cooker once years ago and DS loved it. We had to improve a bit, I did not have a chocolate cake mix on hand and used a gluten-free brownie mix instead. The …Read more
